Website Designer vs Web Developer: What’s the Difference?
Website designer or web developer? Understand the difference, what each does, what UK businesses should look for, and which one you actually need.

A booking system can cost anything from a small monthly subscription to several thousand pounds for a bespoke platform. The right budget depends on whether you simply need customers to choose an appointment or whether booking is tied into payments, staff, courses, availability and customer accounts.
If customers choose a service, select a time and receive a confirmation, an established booking platform is often the most cost-effective choice. There is little value in rebuilding standard functionality without a business reason.
Even when using a third-party booking platform, the website should make the journey feel clear. Service pages can lead into the correct booking option, tracking can measure conversions, and branding can remain consistent around the booking journey.
Custom development starts to make sense when booking rules are part of the product itself. Examples include deposits unlocking course material, complex availability, staged enrolment, specialist rescheduling rules, customer portals or workflows that need to update a CRM automatically.
Include transaction fees, per-user charges, SMS costs, paid add-ons and the time staff spend fixing gaps between systems. A £30 tool that requires hours of manual reconciliation may not be cheaper than a better-integrated option.
Choose the simplest booking system that genuinely supports your rules. Standard booking should use standard software; specialist workflows may justify custom development.
